This is a really beautiful French antique scent - perfume bottle. This is the sort of item bought by the English aristocrat ladies whilst on their " Grand Tours " as a souvenir of the capital Paris.
This is an antique French colourless clear glass scent bottle inside a pierced gilt metal mount. The bottle is a tapered shape and has a short length of chain attached at the shoulders to hang on a chatelaine. As well as the fancy little dangly on the bottom which has a turquoise glass bead inset. The front, back, and lid all have small printed depictions of Parisian landmarks under glass cabochons.
It has a gilt metal hinged lid with its original ground glass stopper in the top. No maker's marks or metal marks etc. Please see pictures provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition. There are some splits in the pierced cage work around the glass bottle. The printed pictures of Paris look faded. 105mm (4 inches) long excluding the hanging decoration at the base x 35mm x 20mm. My stock ref : #T11-13522 in perfume scent bottle cabinet. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.
