Antique French bronze pocket watch stand, Grand Tour

  

An attractive antique French Grand Tour pocket watch stand. It has a very distressed and rustic look to it, made from bronze with a marble base, the scrolling arches hold a central tufted cushion on which the watch rests. The watch hangs from a small bronze hook at the top which is shouldered by decorative bronze leaves. Unmarked, 19th century, French make Condition Fair condition overall with some signs of use and wear, bronze would have been gilded but gilt has worn completely, cushion has some wear and small tears in the silk.
